Huddled in the muck of the blue vessel that is Otto von Dumpster, Ratnold Carter was discovered by CLK. Close by her side were her children: Lavinia (white), Obed (dark gray), Mason (light gray), and Jenkin (brown and not biologically related).
Since all good leech keepers need a minimum of one rat, CLK took them in. Though the little ones can be troublemakers and Lavinia falls a lot, it was a natural fit.
Ratnold does not speak, but displays sentiment in other ways: her “happy dance”, head nods, sneezing (often times on Mr. Bob Tis), nose rubs, and other exaggerated movements. She is cute and playful, but can be impish and proudly spiteful. Her preferences include sniffing things, smelling food and drinks, and knocking things over. Conversely, Ratnold is not a fan of being ignored, Moppy Poppins, sparkly beverages, items on counter tops, or coffee. The latter makes her gag, which is also another form of expression, albeit awful.
