A cold front had swept in, picking a fight with unseasonable warmth. Mayhem ensued, and they mated before the temperate climate was honorably killed in battle. An errant tornado formed, bringing with it storm damage in the form of trees/branches down, an empty chicken feed bag, and an orangy manifestation nesting as randomly as a drunk teenager during a field party. (Let this not be confused with the most recent weather incident which brought CLK another chicken feed bag and a literal top hat.)
Suspicious of being outside due to the previous attempt at death from Mother Nature, CLK was a bit hesitant to explore the strange scene. Around the second day of the power outage, boredom set in, heartening curiosity. By day three, a decision was made to see what hath the Tornado Gods wrought.
The chilly air was quite a warm-up compared to the powerless home. Swathed in a three-day buildup of clothing layers, the trudge uphill provided limited limb movement. Yet there was a desire—an almost magnetic draw.
Gradually the orange took shape. Though in the throes of early Spring, there sat a Halloween pumpkin.
CLK scooped up the vibrant decoration, silently thanking the Tornado Gods for this bountiful harvest. Instantly it was dubbed “Pumpkin Friend”, and its mystically stoic personality shone through. Pumpkin Friend was an immediate part of the family.

Pumpkin Friend’s Pumpkin Friends are an extension of this blessed kismet event. Inspired by days of yore, the design is based upon antique Halloween toys—you know, the totally frightening kind that scared adults but were rationally intended for toddlers.
Known as a stick puppet, this gourd variation is a mixed media soft sculpture. The stick and head are stuffed felt, while its ghostlike appearance is a handkerchief. Various shades of browns and oranges are used in their creation. Some have simulated stem issues or other damage from their former pumpkin patch days. Sticks and heads could be pristine, or be a bit wonky (leaning, tilted, et cetera) to simulate actual antique stick puppets.
You have two options when deciding upon acquiring a Pumpkin Friend’s Pumpkin Friend: faceless or the Jack-O’-Lantern look. With the latter, each frontage is primitive and created with the asymmetrical blasphemy of a normie carving a pumpkin with a dull knife, which doubles as a metaphor for how we get through life.
