What is a poppet?
A variation of the word “puppet”, a poppet is a folk magic doll that bridges reality to the spiritual world. Depending on the culture and what’s available, it can be made from random materials and created for assorted positive or negative purposes.
What is a pocket?
Often made of fabric, a pocket is a compartment that holds things. If you own pants or a coat, you may happen upon a pocket or two in their designs.
Does the poppet go into the pocket?
If you want. The poppet is about 5”-6” tall and around 3”-5” wide.
What if I don’t have a pocket to put the poppet in?
You do have a pocket. Somewhere. Anywhere. Anyway, it’s immaterial where you put it. “Pocket” was selected for the title based on its alliteration and rhyme scheme with “poppet” (p-, p-; paw—eht, paw—eht).
Is the Pocket Poppet made of something?
Yes. CLK’s Pocket Poppets are stuffed and made of assorted colors of felt that are sewn together with thread. They also have a button eye, a felt heart, and embroidered facial features.
What’s that long weird-looking pointy poking thing?
We desperately need you to be more specific.
Why is there a little felt squiggle thing that has a silver thing attached to it that is stabbing the poppet?
Aaaah, yes. That’s a leech. What makes CLK’s Pocket Poppet unique, aside from its one-of-a-kind craftsmanship, is that it wears a leech. This tiny felt sliver is glued around a small pin that can be inserted anywhere on the poppet. It’s a fun little concept to move the leech around so it’s suckered to the poppet in various areas.
Should I be careful when using the leech pin?
Yes. Always use caution when removing and inserting the leech pin. The Pocket Poppet is only to be used by those responsible enough to be careful with it, and the pin should not be put in anything else aside from the Pocket Poppet. This includes your own body parts and the body parts of others.
